General
Scholarships are available to full-time undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in programs that are traditionally preparatory for the HVAC&R profession. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or rank in the top 30% of their class. Additional regional criteria are published online and must be met in addition to the general requirements. Applicants must also meet at least one program or institutional condition listed below.
Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students in qualifying engineering or pre-engineering programs with minimum academic standing (GPA ≥ 3.0 or top 30%).
Additional Criteria: At least one of the following institutional or program conditions must be met by the applicant's school or program.
- The institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch.
- The program is accredited by ABET.
- The program is accredited by the Consejo de Acreditacion de la Ensenanza de la Ingenieria (CACEI).
- Full-time enrollment in a qualifying program is required.
- Minimum academic standards: GPA ≥ 3.0 or top 30% class standing.
- One institutional or accreditation condition must be satisfied.
Region VIII Scholarship
The Region VIII scholarship is a one-year award for qualified undergraduate pre-engineering or engineering students attending institutions within ASHRAE Region VIII. Region VIII generally includes Arkansas, Louisiana*, Texas*, Oklahoma, and Mexico; portions of those U.S. states may fall outside the region. Applicants must meet the general scholarship criteria as well as any additional regional requirements published online. For questions about eligible schools in partial-state areas, applicants should contact ASHRAE headquarters for guidance.
Description: A regional, one-year scholarship for students enrolled at institutions within ASHRAE Region VIII geographic boundaries.
Eligibility: Undergraduate pre-engineering or engineering students at eligible institutions within Region VIII who meet the general program requirements.
