Act Six Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Act Six
Act Six is a scholarship and leadership initiative that links local faith-based community groups with colleges that focus on faith and social justice. The program's primary goal is to prepare emerging leaders from urban and community backgrounds to influence their college campuses and home communities through a potent four-part strategy.
We collaborate with Common App to streamline the application process for Act Six. The program is free of charge, and with a completed Common App, you can also apply to over 1,000 colleges nationwide.
The application process for the 2023-24 academic year can be initiated by filling out an interest form and adding Act Six to your Common App.
THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS ARE NOW ELIGIBLE TO APPLY:
- Those who are passionate about their community and aspire to leverage their college education to effect change as leaders on campus and in their home communities;
- Those who will complete high school in 2024, or have already graduated in 2023 or 2022;
- Those who are not currently enrolled in a four-year college (students from two-year colleges are eligible to apply);
- Those who reside in one of the four Act Six program locations; and
- Those who wish to attend at least one of the Act Six partner colleges in their program location.
While ethnicity and family income are taken into account when selecting a deliberately diverse group of scholars, there are no income limitations, and students of all racial and ethnic backgrounds are invited to apply.
There is no minimum GPA requirement, and admission standards differ among our partner colleges. Generally, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 will need to showcase their preparedness for academic success in college through their recommendations, essays, and/or test scores.
