Eligibility

Eligible applicants are women pilots who meet baseline certification, medical, and review requirements and who plan a career in aviation. Applicants must reside within 150 miles of Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport and be at least 17 years old. Candidates must be eligible for the rating applied for and must complete written requirements for that rating before funds are released. Past recipients of the Santa Rosa Ninety-Nines aviation scholarship are not eligible; membership in the Ninety-Nines or the Santa Rosa chapter is optional.

Eligibility: Candidates must hold at least a private pilot license, a current medical, and a current flight review; meet residency and age requirements; and be pursuing flight training or aviation education toward a career.

Application Guidelines

Applications must be completed using the provided form without alteration and submitted in the required quantity. The scholarship committee will verify eligibility and review materials; the selection committee consists of three local aviation community members. Judging considers aviation activities, recommendations, demonstrated ability to meet goals, commitment to aviation, and financial need. Applications must be postmarked by the August deadline and notifications will be issued by October 31, 2025.

Scholarship Award

The scholarship award amount is $5,000 and must be used within one year of issuance. Reimbursement is made from receipts documenting the training; receipts must be signed by both the student and the instructor and include logbook copies where applicable. The award supports measurable progress toward the recipient’s stated aviation objective.
