Navy Supply Corps Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Navy Supply Corps Foundation
Intro
The Navy Supply Corps Foundation began accepting scholarship applications on December 16, 2024, for awards to be used during the 2025–2026 academic year. The Foundation’s Scholarship Program — the original reason the organization was created about thirty years ago — exists to help children and spouses of qualifying Supply Corps personnel afford college.
Who may apply (Eligibility)
- Applicants can include high school seniors, undergraduate students, students enrolled in accredited community colleges or technical schools, and spouses.
- Eligible family members include children, grandchildren, or spouses of qualifying Supply Corps officers. Children and spouses of Supply Corps enlisted members (active duty, reservist, or retired) are also eligible for consideration.
Memorial scholarships
Following the September 11, 2001 Global War on Terror, NSCF introduced memorial scholarships for the minor children of Supply Corps officers who die on Active Duty. These awards were originally $10,000 each and were increased to $20,000 in 2022. The memorial scholarship program covers Active Duty Supply Corps Officers and Reserve Supply Corps Officers serving under Mobilization, Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW), Active Duty for Training (ADT), Annual Training (AT), and Inactive Duty for Training (IDT).
Application components and evaluation
The application gathers personal information, academic history, extracurricular involvement, employment experience, a personal statement, and two brief essays. All identifying details are removed before review. Evaluators focus on academic ability and achievement, leadership and character, notable accomplishments, and the content of the two essays.
Selection process and committee
A Scholarship Board is assembled by the Foundation Scholarship Committee and includes one representative from each of these communities: Active Duty, Reserve, Retired, Senior Enlisted, and spouses. Members first review and score applications individually, then convene virtually to choose recipients. Selection is based primarily on character, leadership, scholastic performance, and the essays.
Program growth and impact
Since its modest start in 1971 — when six one-year scholarships of $250 each were provided — the Scholarship Program has expanded substantially thanks to the support of regional chapters, spouses’ clubs, and individual Supply Corps officers. The Foundation now aims to distribute $250,000 in scholarships annually. From 1971 to the present, the Foundation has awarded 2,789 scholarships totaling more than $6,949,500.
