- Up to two one-year awards.
- Applicant must commit to a paid summer internship at a North American steel company or industry supplier.
- Upon selection, AIST will assist in internship placement. Companies that qualify for the internship portion of this scholarship are located across North America. Upon selection, the recipient will provide his/her preferences for company and location. The company will interview the recipient as they would for a typical job. The recipient will have the final ability to accept.
- Applicants are also encouraged to seek information from steel companies at career/job events and may, at any time, accept an internship or co-op at a steel-producing company or industry supplier. If an internship is self-placed by the recipient, the company providing the internship must be pre-approved by AIST. Please contact AIST prior to accepting a self-placed internship for approval.
