Marrone Law Firm — a Philadelphia-based personal injury practice — believes in more than representing people harmed by another’s negligence. Over years serving the City of Brotherly Love, we’ve seen how compassion and small acts of kindness can profoundly affect lives. That’s why we’re proud to introduce the inaugural Brotherly Love Scholarship. Overview - Award: One $1,000 scholarship will be given to a single recipient. - Who should apply: Students across the United States are eligible; applicants from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York are especially encouraged to apply. - Essay: Applicants must respond to the prompt (500 words) described below. - How to apply: Complete the required materials and submit them through the form below. - Deadline: February 28th, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST. Essay prompt (500 words) Describe a time you stepped out of your comfort zone to show compassion to a stranger. In addition, outline ways individuals can become more engaged in their communities. Eligibility - Open to legal U.S. residents living in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia who are current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students and who will be enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year postsecondary institution for the Spring 2025 semester. - Employees of Marrone Law Firm, LLC, their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and anyone living in the same household as such employees (whether related or not) are ineligible. - Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing. Application requirements - A 500-word essay addressing the prompt above. - All essays will be screened for AI-generated content. Applications with essays determined to contain AI-assisted writing will be disqualified. - A professional résumé detailing academic and professional experience. - A transcript from your current school: - First-year college students, graduate students, or recent transfers may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school plus the most recent official transcript from their prior school. - High school applicants must also provide proof of acceptance to their college or university. - Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in the state.
