Financial Recovery Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Allmand Law

Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 1
Deadline : Nov 30, 2026

At Allmand Law, we believe education plays a critical role in building a stronger future, especially when individuals face financial challenges. Bankruptcy and debt recovery are often misunderstood, yet they can be powerful tools for rebuilding and long-term growth.

The Allmand Law Financial Recovery Scholarship invites students to examine real-world examples of individuals or businesses who achieved success after bankruptcy while pursuing their academic goals. This scholarship reflects our commitment to education, financial awareness, and second chances.

The recipient of the Financial Recovery Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.

Eligibility

  • The scholarship is open to current high school seniors, vocational students, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are legal residents of the United States and reside in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be enrolled in a vocational program or an accredited two- or four-year post-secondary institution.
  • Employees of Allmand Law, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and anyone living in the same household, whether related or not, are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
  • Preference may be given to students who are from Texas or attending a secondary or post-secondary institution in the state of Texas.

Application Requirements

  • The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Give an example of a business or famous individual in Texas who filed for bankruptcy and was successful post-filing. What factors contributed to their bankruptcy? How was their debt handled in bankruptcy, and how are they doing now?
  • Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
  • The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
  • The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in the state.
